DebDr. Kalyanmoy Deb, Koenig Endowed Chair Professor for Electrical and Computer Engineering, was recognized among the world's most highly cited researchers. Dr. Deb researches multi-objective optimization using evolutionary algorithms, solving complex problems across a range of fields involving trade-offs between conflicting preferences.

This year the Clarivate Analytics highly cited researchers list honors approximately 3,400 scientists from around the globe who have been most cited by their peers and are considered to be among the world’s most highly influential scientific minds. The list is based on analysis of peer-reviewed research paper and manuscript citations between 2005 and 2015 in 21 broad natural and social science disciplines.

Other five MSU faculty on this prestigious list are:  Dr. James Cole, director of the Ribosomal Database Project in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Dr. Sheng Yang He, University Distinguished Professor, HHMI-GBMF Investigator and a member of the MSU-DOE Plant Research Lab; Dr. Gregg Howe, MSU Foundation professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a member of the MSU-DOE Plant Research Lab; Dr. John Ohlrogge, professor emeritus and University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Plant Biology and member of the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center; and Dr. Jeffrey Wooldridge, University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Economics.
