Mi Zhang, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the 2017 NIH/UCLA mHealth Scholarship. Zhang will participate in the NIH/UCLA mHealth Training Institute in the summer of 2017 which aims to develop the next-generation of academic mHealth investigators with the multidisciplinary skills needed to generate high-quality mHealth research and solutions (https://app.smarterselect.com/programs/34815-M-Health-Summer-Training-Institute).
Zhang's research focuses on designing and developing mobile and wearable sensor-based smart health systems for human behavior and vital sign monitoring as well as just-in-time intervention delivery. His recent research efforts include 1) smartphone-based pill recognition system; 2) smartphone-based behavioral sensing and analytics systems for depression diagnosis and treatment; 3) wearable sensor-based human behavior and physiological signal monitoring and analytics; and 4) intelligent ambient sensing system for indoor air pollution monitoring and analytics.
