U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-Michigan) toured the world’s most technologically advanced diamond mine -- which is located right here at MSU in Fraunhofer Center. He heard about the industry and medical applications of Fraunhofer’s diamonds, thin films, and coatings. Fraunhofer currently has about 40 research projects, ranging from anti-glare coatings for bus windows to the extraordinary physical properties of single crystalline diamonds to superhard, low friction and wear resistant coatings. The tour was Sept. 12, 2016.
