Congratulations to MSU Foundation Professor John Papapolymerou, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, for being one of five at MSU named 2018-19 fellows in the Academic Leadership Program of the Big Ten Academic Alliance. Many of the program’s nearly 1,000 fellows have gone on to serve as college presidents, provosts and deans.
Dr. Papapolymerou joined MSU in 2015. Prior to MSU, he was the Ken Byers Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and associate director of the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC) from 2001 to 2015. His research focuses on the development of new RF/microwave and mm-wave circuits and antennas for wireless communication and sensing systems, as well as radars. His work has been funded by grants from NSF, NASA, DoD, DoE and various companies that have supported several graduate and undergraduate students and post-doctoral researchers. He is a past recipient of the NSF CAREER award and the ARO Young Investigator Award. He will serve as the Chair of the 2019 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation.
